SECOND UPDATE: Sparkles had testing done with a sedative, she had more going on internally than we realized. When she was picked up to be moved from one spot to another she crashed and was unable to be brought back. We are beyond heartbroken. She deserved so much more than this world offered her. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who jumped to her aid so quickly, words can't express how much we needed to see that kindness to give her a chance. Again, thank you all so very much for helping to give this girl a chance. She deserved it. UPDATE: We went ahead and committed to Sparkles and got her on a ride to the emergency vet! EXTREME EMERGENCY! The shelter has just reached out to us about a dog that has suffered an embedded harness, not collar full harness! To make matters worse, she's having difficulty standing, her gums are pale, she's vomiting and has tarry stool. She's very anemic and needs blood transfusion and she's also septic. Shelter did xrays and she got fluid in her abdomen but no obstruction seen. She is in pain and needs critical emergency car right now! We have a freeze on pulling because our funds are depleted so there's is absolutely no way we can help this girl without a huge amount of pledges. She's a young girl with a whole life ahead of her, she just needs help getting through this. Based on her condition and critical care needs, previous cases we've had in similar condition, we're talking about at least $10,000-$15,000 for emergency care - testing, treatment of her critical condition and then her embedded harness care. This will include a hospital stay. We know that's a HUGE ask but we are seriously scraping the bottom of the barrel to cover our daily expenses and current cases. Her eyes are not ready to give up!
