The Petaluma Valley Juniors kept their regional campaign going, beating Bend North 23-1 in five innings to advance.

PVLL wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring 11 runs on two hits. Noah Holley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs at the plate, got the scoring started with an RBI single.

“We were given a few runners in the inning, including some errors, but some of those errors were due to hard contact that we made,” Petaluma Valley head coach Shawn Dooley said.

From there, they scored another seven runs in the second, and five more runs in the fourth. The NorCal champs only needed 11 hits, but capitalized on six Bend errors.

Along with Holley, Colt Cilia had three RBIs, while Callaway Haluska, Tyler Pelissett, and Gavin Powell had two RBIs.

Pitching was again a strength, as three pitchers threw a two-hitter. Haluska, Cilia and Brandon Lozinto-Wyatt combined for seven strikeouts on the day.

Petaluma Valley will have a much needed day off on Saturday before playing Arizona in the quarterfinals on Sunday. That game will be at 10 a.m.

“I feel like our offense is doing much better now than we did at state, and hopefully we can carry that forward,” Dooley said. “Our pitching and defense have been stellar so far, so as long as those things stay where they are, it’ll be tough to beat us.
