Dinwiddie, Petersburg men charged with March murder in North Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD – Two area men are behind bars charged with the murder last March of a Midlothian man in front of his residence.

Markice D. Street, 29, of Dinwiddie County, and Lamont A. Jones, 26, of Petersburg, are facing one count each of second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to a statement from Chesterfield County Police. Street has been in custody since April on the vehicle-shooting charge, while Jones was picked up by U.S. marshals July 17 in Alamance County, North Carolina, and extradited Wednesday.

Both are charged with killing Barry O. Jordan, 22, of the 13600 block of Northwich Drive. Jordan was found shot in his car around 3:30 a.m. March 17 after police were called to investigate reports of gunfire. He died later at a nearby hospital.

Street and Jones are being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
