‘Tribute to Bricktop’ returns to Alderson
Alderson’s annual “Tribute to Bricktop” concert will be held on Sunday August 4 beginning at 6 pm on the Memorial Bridge (pedestrian bridge). The concert is free, sponsored by Alderson Main Street and the Town of Alderson with the support from the Greenbrier County Commission’s Arts and Recreation fund.
Ridge Runners play final home game of season tonight
BLUEFIELD — The Bluefield Ridge Runners will play their final home game of the Appalachian League regular season at tonight at Bowen Field. The Ridge Runners will host a game with the Kingsport AxMen. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. After tonight's home stand versus the AxMen, the Ridge Runners are slated to travel to Kingsport to wrap up the regular season at Hunter Wright Stadium. First pitch of that game is set for 7 p.m.

Scattered rain and storms linger throughout the week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Over the course of Monday morning, rain began to spread from the southwest of our area to the northeast-- and thus begins a week of active weather, one West Virginia desperately needs. While we won’t see much rain overnight tonight, heavier showers are expected to return Tuesday morning. Throughout the day Tuesday, the chance for scattered showers and storms will persist, and while the rain is welcome, heavy downpours in any poor drainage area could mean minor high water issues. Overnight, rain will taper off again, and for the remainder of the week, activity should be just diurnal, meaning in the afternoon and early evening hours rather than mornings and overnights. While there will be periods of no rain, and perhaps even sunshine, any showers that pop up are likely to be heavy.
