    Summer brings music and movies to Pennsylvania Park

    PETOSKEY — Pennsylvania Park will be the place to be next month, as the Sounds of Summer concert series and Movies in the Park at Dark return with family-friendly fun.

    Starting July 19, Blissfest Music Organization and Downtown Petoskey will host the second season of the Sounds of Summer. The series is designed to feature a wide range of musical genres, from soul to indie to Americana.

    The concerts are free and will take place at 7 p.m. in Pennsylvania Park.

    The lineup includes:

    • July 26: 1000 Watt Prophets
    • Aug. 2: Adrian + Meredith
    • Aug. 9: The Black Feathers
    • Aug. 16: Djangophonique

    After enjoying some live music, people are encouraged to stick around because the Movies in the Park at Dark will take place on the same evenings.

    The movies begin at dark in Pennsylvania Park, which will be roughly around 9:30 p.m. Each night will also include a visit from that evening’s sponsor.

    The movie schedule includes:

    • July 19: “Brother Bear,” sponsored by Bearcub Outfitters
    • July 26: “Marcel: The Shell with Shoes On,” sponsored by the Petoskey District Library
    • Aug. 2: “Lyle Lyle Crocodile,” sponsored by Great Lakes Orthodontics
    • Aug. 9: “The Little Mermaid” (2023)
    • Aug. 16: “Wonka” (2023), sponsored by Luci and Carl’s Candy Cabin
