PETOSKEY — For 25 years, women’s clothing store Threads has made its home in Northern Michigan.

Originally opening in the Village of Bay Harbor in the summer of 1999, Threads moved to downtown Petoskey in 2009 and has been in its current location at 400 Bay St. since 2013.

Owner Chris Jaconette and the store celebrated its 25th anniversary with an open house on Thursday, June 27.

“It’s fun,” Jaconette said. “People have been very sweet.”

Jaconette, who also owns Après by Threads in Petoskey, said she is grateful and proud to be celebrating the 25-year milestone.

“I’m proud of the fact that we’ve had a lot of the same clientele the whole time, and just the relationships and customer service,” she said. “Eileen (Heck) has been here for 20 years, so having a solid staff, I’m very proud of that.”

Looking to the future, Jaconette said she is very happy in their current location.

“We’re very happy,” she said. “This is a great space. I love this building. We just remodeled this winter, so we’re here for a while. We’re not going anywhere.”
