Bigfoot for president? Famous cryptid launches presidential campaign in Petoskey

PETOSKEY — Undecided voters will have a new candidate to consider this November after Bigfoot launched his presidential campaign in Petoskey on Wednesday morning.

The announcement was made in a press conference outside of The Katydid in downtown Petoskey as members of the public and Bigfoot’s campaign team gathered in support.

“Hello America, I am honored to stand before you today to announce the candidacy of a truly unique and remarkable individual for president of the United States,” said Jennifer Shorter, manager of the novelty presidential campaign and owner of The Katydid and two neighboring shops.

Bigfoot laid out the three main points of his platform during his speech: environmental conservation, inclusivity and transparency.

“It’s time for someone with big ideas (and even bigger feet) to lead this country,” Bigfoot said. “Join me on this wild adventure. Together we’ll make history — and maybe even a little mystery. Remember, a vote for me is a vote for America to take a giant step forward.”

Bigfoot was set to continue his campaigning with a float in the Grandpa Shorter's Gifts Downtown Petoskey 4th of July Parade.
