PETOSKEY — There's no better way to start your day than by making a quick morning trip to Bayfront Park near downtown Petoskey.

Bayfront Park covers 25 acres of land and features a multitude of amenities to check out, including the Midway Commons that connect the park with the downtown Gaslight District, Petoskey's iconic breakwater and the city marina.

Opportunities for viewing the beautiful scenery of Little Traverse Bay seem endless while walking through the park.

In addition to its proximity to downtown, the park is connected to a stairway leading to Sunset Park beside a waterfall area and access to the Little Traverse Wheelway.

Bayfront Park also has a children's playground, a softball field and more. Right along Lake Michigan, the park offers opportunities for swimming as well, whether it's a jump from the breakwater or a quick run from the beach beside it.

If you're just looking to stop and admire the scenery, many benches are placed near the water, allowing you to sit and take in the view. There's benches near the outlet of the Bear River leading into Lake Michigan as well.
