It’s time to vote for the Petoskey News-Review Athlete of the Week!

All results come from Monday, May 13 through Saturday, May 18.

Vote for these athletes from Tuesday, May 21 to 2 p.m., Friday, May 24.

Congratulations to last week’s winner, Petoskey’s Emma Mitas of the track and field team. Mitas won with 34.59 percent of the votes a week ago, edging out Charlevoix softball’s Anna Kemp.

    Charlie Thomas, Petoskey lacrosse

Thomas has had some big games, but none bigger than Friday. He scored nine goals and added three assists in a playoff win over Lansing Catholic. He also had six goals and three assists vs. Sault Ste. Marie earlier in the week.

    Lillian Stone, East Jordan softball

Stone had a heck of a series against Charlevoix last week, as she went 6 for 6 in a 20-14 win, with a home run, five RBIs and five runs scored.

    Danyelle Cadarette, Petoskey softball

Cadarette went off for the Northmen a week ago. She went 7 for 8 with two doubles, a homer, seven RBIs and five runs scored against TC West. She was also 2 for 2 with an RBI double in a win over Elk Rapids.

    Katya Peck, Petoskey tennis

Peck pulled off multiple regional upsets over the No. 4 and No. 1 seeds within her regional No. 1 singles bracket last week to qualify for the Division 3 tennis state championships as an individual.

    Owen Waha, Charlevoix baseball

Waha had a heck of a week for the Rayders, opening with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored against Grayling, then added a no-hitter tossed against East Jordan, striking out seven. He also went 1 for 3 with two RBIs in game two.

    Sam Mitas, Petoskey track

Mitas was at it again during Petoskey’s regional. He was part of three school records on the day in the 100 (10.82), 4x100 relay (42.76) and 4x200 relay (1:29.89). All came as first place finishes.
