CHARLEVOIX — Every October, Charlevoix’s Apple Festival brings in a crowd that rivals the summer tourism rush, making it one of the city’s most popular annual events.

This year, the 45th annual Apple Festival is set to take place from Oct. 11-13, promising to draw thousands of visitors eager to enjoy Northern Michigan’s fall colors, local food and seasonal fun.

“Apple Fest is our favorite time of the year for a reason,” said Caitlin Cole, event coordinator for the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce. She has emphasized the festival’s importance in bringing business to a community that heavily relies on tourism.

“People don't just come to Apple Fest, they come to Charlevoix,” Cole added.

As always, apples are the centerpiece of the festival, with local vendors and orchards offering a wide variety of the region’s best. More than 30 varieties of apples will be available, making it a perfect time to support local farmers and orchards, according to Pure Michigan.

The festival will feature more than 120 vendors, selling everything from handmade earrings and lavender candles to freshly baked donuts and oil paintings. Attendees can shop for unique art, crafts and holiday gifts while enjoying the fall atmosphere.
