Man charged with stuffing his son in freezer dies
HENRY COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) - A man accused of stuffing his teenage son’s body in a freezer died before his case could go to trial. Court records show Michael Shane Halstead died on July 7. Attorney Arthur Medley filed a motion to dismiss the charges following Halstead’s death.

A 16-year-old girl is dead after a shooting early Wednesday morning. Police say it happened on the 1000 block of South Nashville Avenue about 1 a.m. According to the Sheffield Police Department, when officers arrived, they found the 16-year-old laying in the grass with a single gunshot wound between her shoulder blades.
