SHEFFIELD, Ala. — A 16-year-old girl was killed early Wednesday morning in Sheffield. The shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 1000 block of S. Nashville Avenue. According to Sheffield Police, they found the girl lying in the grass with a gunshot wound in her back, between her shoulder blades. She was taken to Helen Keller Hospital but passed away shortly after.
