The fall-off, or at least the gradual decline, of the Alabama Football program has been widely anticipated across the college football landscape. Naturally, rival fan bases and media hope for the worst for the Crimson Tide following the retirement of Nick Saban. Even people affiliated with schools that have no connection to the Tide are rooting for the fall of the dynasty. They’ve watched Alabama win at an unprecedented clip for the last 15 years and they’re ready to see something new.
Haleyville, Russellville airports awarded grants for improvements
MONTGOMERY — A pair of north Alabama airports are among three in the state to receive improvement grants from the Alabama Department of Transportation. ALDOT announced it has awarded more than $22,000 in state funding to complement funding from the federal and local governments to the three municipal airports. The grants are made possible through ALDOT’s Alabama Airport Improvement Funding Program.
Alabama students target international rocketry crown at Farnborough
A team of high school students from Alabama will compete for global honors in rocket building at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow. The students from Tharptown High School in Russellville won the American Rocketry Challenge in May, topping 922 teams in the overall competition and the top 100 that faced off in the national finals in The Plains, Virginia.
