A Soldier’s Rest: Two unclaimed Veterans’ bodies honored in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, MS. – Two veterans who died in the last year in Hinds County, who had their bodies unclaimed, will now get a proper soldier’s rest. The men, Richard Lee Wetterling, former US Navy, and Jack K. Waters, former US Army will be laid to rest today at the Natchez National Cemetery. Mamie Brown from the Hinds County Veterans Office discovered both men were honorably discharged and Brown wanted to give them a proper burial.

Boeing company to expand composite components manufacturing plant in Mississippi
Aurora Flight Sciences has announced plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi. Aurora, which is a Boeing company that specializes in manufacturing advanced composite components and assemblies for military and commercial aircraft, will expand its existing plant by 50,000 square feet. The expansion also includes renovation of 40,000 square feet of existing space, and new automation equipment, robotics, and non-destructive inspection technologies. The expansion will help increase volume in composite components for executive jets, as well as increase production of MQ-25 Stingray composite skins and components for NASA’s X-66 sustainable flight demonstrator aircraft. As part of the project, Aurora will create 60 new jobs for the surrounding area.
