SportsRadio 94WIP Midday Show host Joe Giglio picked the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series on Friday, hours before Opening Day at Citizens Bank Park against the Atlanta Braves.

Here are Giglio's 24 bold predictions for the 2024 Philadelphia Phillies.

    1. Phillies win 95 games.

    2. 2024 NL East champions and outlast the Braves who win 94 games.

    3. Orion Kerkering becomes the primary closer by June 1

    4. Ranger Suarez puts it all together and makes the NL All Star team

    5. Bryce Harper puts up a .300/.400/.500 slash line, and finishes top 5 in NL MVP voting.

    6. The Phillies race off to a 21-11 start through May 1, taking advantage of a favorable early schedule and reversing slow starts from 2022 and 2023.

    7. Kyle Schwarber hits 50 HRs, all out of the leadoff spot, but that doesn’t stop many from wanting to move him down the order.

    8. Zack Wheeler and Hall of Fame become words and phrases that begin to be uttered together as the Phillies ace finishes top 2 in NL Cy Young voting.

    9. Aaron Nola’s strikeout rate drops for the fourth consecutive season, and questions arise about the Phillies decision to give him a seven year deal.

    10. Johan Rojas is sent back to the minors in mid May after posting a sub .600 OPS. Brandon Marsh moves back to CF, and Whit Merrifield takes down the bulk of the left field reps.

    11. Calls begin to 94WIP for the Phillies to go after an outfielder at the trade deadline.

    12. The Phillies send five players to the All Star Game in Texas: Harper, Suarez, Jose Alvarado, Wheeler, and Bryson Stott.

    13. Trea Turner starts off slow through April, but wins overshadow his numbers. By June, two debates are getting loud: Another ovation? And did the Phillies pay for a good, not great player? Turner finishes with a .772 OPS, a fourth consecutive year of decline.

    14. Alec Bohm continues to be a solid, but unspectacular hitter. Aidan Miller, skyrocketing through the minors, is suddenly looked at as the third baseman of the near future.

    15. On the morning of Aug 1, the Phillies and Angels agree to a deal that sends Mike Trout to Philadelphia. Trout, with the Angels buried in the AL West standings, quietly requests out in early July. The Phillies, Yankees and Mariners act as the top suitors, with Los Angeles giving Trout say in the final destination. Justin Crawford headlines the price for the Phillies to pay.

    16. The Phillies are inserted as the co-favorite to win the WS, alongside the Dodgers, as soon as the Trout deal is complete.

    17. Despite Trout’s addition, the Phillies stumble through a gauntlet schedule in August. A 13-16 record from the trade through September 1 knock the Phillies out of first place. Trout hits .230 in his first month back home.

    18. Andrew Painter’s rehab progresses ahead of schedule. He arrives to the majors on Sept 1 as a multi inning bullpen weapon.

    19. NL East order of finish: Phillies, Braves, Mets, Marlins, Nationals

    20. NL playoff teams: Dodgers, Phillies, Reds, Braves, Giants, Diamondbacks

    21. The Phillies take down the Reds in 4 in the NLDS

    22. The Phillies outlast the Dodgers in 7 in the NLCS. Bryson Stott knocks in Trea Turner to put the Phillies ahead, 4-3 in the 8th inning of Game 7. Jose Alvarado wins NLCS MVP by holding Betts-Freeman-Ohtani hit less in four close Phillies wins.

    23. The Phillies take the 2024 World Series in 6 games from the Seattle Mariners. Bryce Harper wins the MVP.

    24. The World Series parade will take place on November 6 on Broad Street.
