The Philadelphia Eagles have traded star pass rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for a 2026 third-round that could become a second-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter .

The pick becomes a 2026 second-rounder if Reddick plays 67.5-percent of the snaps and records 10.0-plus sacks.

Reddick, 29, is entering the final year of his contract, a three-year, $45 million deal he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 2022, and is set to enter 2024 with no guaranteed money. H e reportedly does not have a new deal with the Jets , whom will receive a compensatory pick if he leaves for free-agency after the season.

Mike Garafolo reports the Jets will take on Reddick's $14.5 million contract for 2024 and the Eagles will pay his $1 million roster bonus. The Jets and Reddick are reportedly working on a new deal.

Just about five hours before Super Bowl LVIII began, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Reddick has received permission to seek a trade and "could land elsewhere."

On February 13th, Reddick clarified that he never asked for a trade.

“I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded," Reddick said via B/R Jordan Schultz . "This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie recently said , "It'll play itself out in a very good way."

The Camden, NJ native had a career-high 16.0 sacks in 2022 and five forced fumbles, plus another 11.0 sacks in 2023. Reddick added 3.5 sacks in three playoff games during the Eagles' run to the Super Bowl last year.

However, in the final four games of the 2023 regular seasons, Reddick did not record a sack.

Early in free-agency, the Eagles and 26-year-old defensive end Josh Sweat agreed to a new one-year deal for the 2024 season worth $10 million guaranteed with a max value of $13 million. Sweat previously had no guaranteed money.

Sweat has 35.0 sacks in six seasons in the NFL, all with the Eagles, including a career-best 11.0 sack 2022 season following a 7.5 sack 2021 Pro Bowl campaign.

Also, the Eagles' first 2024 free-agency addition was signing former New York Jets pass rusher Bryce Huff to a three-year deal worth $51.1 million.

Huff, 25, recorded 10.0 sacks in 17 games last season, despite playing just 42-percent of the snaps as mainly a passing situation player.
