The Eagles' need at corner is complex. Darius Slay is still a shutdown, outside corner but he could be in his final year with the team. Outside of Slay the Eagles do have some intriguing young players. Keele Ringo, Eli Ricks and Isiah Rodgers all have upside, but they are unproven. James Bradberry will get a chance to bounce back from a down year. Fans are underrating the chances of those four players forming a good, to very good, cornerback No. 2 in 2024.

2024 Eagles NFL Draft Preview: Offensive Tackle

What the Eagles really need is a corner that has CB1 potential they can develop for 2024 and turn things over to in 2025. The good news is this draft is deep at corner, and filled with guys who could be CB2 if needed in 2024.

Nate Wiggins, Clemson: My favorite cornerback in the draft. Has the physical tools and attitude to be the kind of shutdown cornerback teams look for at the top of the draft. Has excelled in both man and zone coverage. Has recovery speed. Is slender for a CB but physical attitude makes up for it.

Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama: Could be one of the most underrated players in the draft. McKinstry stepped onto Alabama’s campus and started as a freshman, an incredible accomplishment and a sign of the kind of player/person he is. Not an elite athlete but football IQ makes up for it. Jones fracture in foot is a concern.

Terrion Arnold, Alabama: Elite, CB1 potential despite being somewhat of a still raw prospect with only one year of experience. Has the size/speed to be CB1. Great tackler. Great at making plays on the ball. Likely out of the Eagles reach.

Cooper DeJean, Iowa: DeJean has one of the highest ceilings/lowest floors of any of the top CB prospects. At his best he is a physical, athletic outside CB that the offense has to look for before every snap. At his worst he is a player that didn’t play much man coverage in college, struggles to play it in NFL and can’t find a home at one spot on the field. Big risk, big reward.

Khyree Jackson, Oregon: Jackson is 24-years old and still a bit of a raw prospect, which is not great — but the reality is he is an elite enough athlete to be intriguing. He is tall, long arms, great speed and built to be a press-man corner in the NFL. His age is a concern for a high draft pick but he is elite upside.

Jarrian Jones, Florida State: Played slot and outside, but too slow for outside and had best year at slot. A nickel corner. Very quick. Good tackler. Good vs. the run.

Andru Phillips, Kentucky: Limited playing time. Only 600ish snaps in 2022, less than 300 year before. Physical player. Great against run. Press coverage. Can play nickel.
