PHL’s marketplace of over 150 retail, dining and consumer service concessions just welcomed a familiar name last week. Sabrina’s Cafe has joined the family at PHL Food & Shops. Delaware Valley’s brunch boutique is now open to passengers in Terminal C.

The quirky concept of comfort food “with a twist,” served in a cozy, eclectic dinette made its debut in 2001 near Philly’s Italian Market. Founders Raquel and Robert De Abreu further personalized the idea by naming the restaurant after their daughter, and Sabrina’s Cafe was born.

Just over two decades later, Sabrina’s Cafe operates five locations — each a neighborhood favorite — including Fairmount/Art Museum, University City, South Street, Wynnewood and Collingswood. The new PHL Food & Shops location is the sixth Sabrina’s Cafe.

The De Abreus have partnered with restaurant operator Hakan Ilhan who also launched Bud & Marilyn’s and Good Luck Pizza Co. at PHL. Ilhan has extensive airport concessions experience in Philly and in Washington, D.C.

“We are thrilled to bring Sabrina’s Cafe to PHL in collaboration with the De Abreus, whose concept of all-day, elevated brunch has become a staple wherever it operates,” said Ilhan, president of Hakan Ilhan Restaurants in a statement.

Sabrina’s Cafe in Terminal C will provide passengers with a dining experience that feels like they’re eating in the home of a dear friend for breakfast, lunch or dinner and being treated to special home-cooked favorites like Cannoli French Toast … or a Santa Fe Turkey Burger. Following the meal, they can savor innovative desserts and beverages like a Lucky Charms Matcha Latte.

While breakfast is a daylong affair, bowls of Teriyaki Salmon or Korean Chicken Kimchi are available for lunch or dinner. Burger lovers can “build their own,” and sandwich lovers can enjoy Veggie Philly Cheesesteaks, soups and more.

“The addition of Sabrina’s Cafe to PHL Food & Shops underscores our commitment to curating an authentic Philly dining experience for our passengers,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL. “Now passengers at the airport can experience the same warm hospitality and classic Philly flavors that have enamored the hearts of locals for years.”

“Sabrina’s Cafe is grateful for the continued support of our communities, which has helped us grow,” said Robert De Abreu. “Now at PHL, we hope to meet even more local customers, plus visitors from out of town — and perhaps add a Stuffed French Toast Latte to their travels.”
