Giglio: 'We need to trust Rob Thomson'

Joe Giglio says Phillies fans and media need to trust Rob Thomson.

"We need to trust Rob Thomson," Giglio said on Friday's 94WIP Midday Show. "Listen, do I think Rob Thomson is perfect? No, no manager is. I don't think he is perfect, but he is a darn good manager who has had a lot of success since he's took over here almost two full years ago. Rob Thomson is really good at this. He understands this team. He's really great in the regular season with the ups and the downs and keeping these guys steady.

"I agree with what Jack said a couple of days ago, we have one of the better managers in baseball...Hugh, I trust Rob Thomson."

Thomson had a great back-and-forth with 94WIP's Howard Eskin before Thursday's series opener against the Pirates, assuring Eskin that the Phillies "are going to slug." And of course, the Phils hit three home runs a little bit later en route to a 5-1 win.

Thomson is 162-124 (.566) since taking over as Phillies manager early in the 2022 season.
