It's simple—you can never have enough weapons in a passing league and there is a good chance when the Eagles are on the clock at No. 22 the best player available is a WR. This is a special class of wide receivers. Passing on one for a lesser player at a position with a perceived bigger need would be silly. Adding a special WR3 to this offense that can stretch the field is a need.

Here are some options for the Eagles (not including Marvin Harrison Jr., Romeo Odunze, Malik Nabers):

Brian Thomas JR., LSU: A special player. Thomas is 6-foot-4 with great speed that will stretch defenses right away. Ran a 4.33 40 (2nd fastest at Combine). 17 TD on 17.3 YPC last year. Not great YAC. Blocks hard in running game. Can play in the slot but also step to the outside if needed.

Adonai Mitchell, Texas: 6-foot-4 with 14 TD in his last 18 games. 4.34 40 was 3rd fastest at Combine. Smooth route runner. WR1 Swag. More outside guy than slot but his speed checks a big box for Eagles. Could start Week 1 in slot and move outside if AJ/DeVonta go down.

Xavier Worthy, Texas: A blazing 4.21 40. Home run hitter both with straight-line speed deep and also YAC. Excellent at tracking the ball, which separates him fro other speed/fast 40 WRs. Not physical player at LOS. Most likely will have to play slot early on. Weapon as PR/KR.

Troy Franklin, Oregon: 6-3. Vertical threat. Good footwork and route runner. 14 TD last year, 25 last 2 years. 17.1 YPC. Played slot and outside. 4.41 40. Decent route runner. Only Harrison Jr has more TDs the last two seasons. A great option if he is there in the 2nd round.

Ladd McConkey, Georgia: Great footwork and route runner. Good speed at 4.39 40. Played QB/RB/DB in high school. GREAT YAC. Played slot WR. Good blocker. Team captain.

Ricky Pearsall, Florida: Slot WR that is a great route runner and good footwork. Creates space with that, not straight-line speed. Great hands. 4.41 40.

Keon Coleman, Florida State: 6-4. Looks fast on tape but 4.61 40 is bad. Doesn’t create separation with his route running or speed which is concerning. Contested catch guy. Not a good route runner.

Roman Wilson, Michigan: Speed guy. Slot receiver. Not big enough for outside. Good footwork and route running. Great hands. Great run blocker.

Xavier Legette, South Carolina: 4.39 40. 23 years old. Late bloomer but moves fast at 6-foot-3 and 17.7 YPC. Great contested catch. Good at YAC. Needs work as a route runner but the physical tools to be WR1. "The Beast" compared him to DK Metcalf

Malachi Corley, Western Kentucky: Former RB that is learning to play WR. Great at YAC. Only 5-foot-11.

Jermaine Burton, Alabama: Undersized. Played at Georgia and Alabama. Firey WR. 20.5 YPC last season. 15 TD last two years. Slot/outside.

Ja’Lynn Polk, Washington: Not a good route runner. Wins contested catches with good hands and physical play.

Devontez Walker, UNC: 6-2. 4.36 40. Big play guy with special speed. 17 YPC last year. 18 TD last 2 years. Good hands. Great at tracking the ball. Only a deep ball guy in college and needs to add routes.

Johnny Wilson, FSU: A whopping 6-foot-7. Huge catch radius but very questionable hands. 4.52 40.

Jalen McMillan, Washington: Good route runner and smart WR at getting himself open. Slot WR. Overshadowed by other WRs at WASH. Not very fast/special athlete.

Brenden Rice, USC: 6-foot-3. Great route runner. Smart football player, expected as Jerry Rice son. Wins with technique/route running, not speed. 4.51 40.

Aiyanas Smith, Texas A&M: 5-10. Slot WR that is physical. Played WR/RB/PR. Strong blocker. Savy route runner. Great YAC. Not fast. Shin surgery.
