The Phillies are a decent 9-8 through 17 games and while the pitching has been elite, the offense has been well below average.

Joe Giglio does not believe the Phillies have a good lineup anymore.

"The more I watch this team, the more I think we don't have a good lineup," Giglio said on Tuesday. "I really don't...Overall, I don't think this is a good lineup. We're 17 games, they're averaging three and a half runs per game.

"They strike out a lot. They don't walk much. They don't hit for power."

The Phillies team batting average (.231) is 10th worst in MLB. Their OPS (.652) is 7th worst in MLB. They are 10th in strikeouts (148).

Specifically, Nick Castellanos is just 11-62 (.177) with zero extra base hits.

"You have two total zeros [in Castellanos and Johan Rojas] and then look at the rest of the lineup," Giglio continued. "It's way closer to average, most of these guys, then I think we want to admit. We love them, they've been clutch in the postseason, but Bryson Stott is closer to average than really great. Alec Bohm is closer to average than he is really great. Harper is excellent, but he has not gotten off to a good start. Trea should be good and he's been pretty good. And Schwarber, we know what he is. I just don't think this is a really good lineup...The way I look at it is, this is a very average lineup that is going to need a bat during the season."
