Howard Eskin believes Eagles could trade up for an offensive lineman

Howard Eskin believes Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles could trade up a handful of spots from No. 22 overall in round one of Thursday night's NFL Draft for an offensive lineman, specifically a potential replacement for Lane Johnson at the tackle position.

"If they only have to trade up four, maybe five spots, I think they trade up for an offensive lineman who is a tackle, not a guard," Eskin told Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show. "A tackle on the offensive line. The best chance I think is trading up to get a tackle. And then if they stay where there are, I think they'll get a corner. If they're where they are, they are going to take the best player available...But I think it's going to be an offensive lineman."

Johnson, 33, is entering his 12th NFL season, all with the Eagles. The two-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler has four years remaining on his contract with cap hits in the range of $15.8 million to $18.9 million in each respective season.

"Lane Johnson, I'd like to see him—like all these guys play forever—and I think he might have at least a couple of more years left," Eskin said. "But you've got to worry about injury and you've got to have a replacement there and that's what the Eagles have done a good job with."
