Report: 'Eagles trying to move up in round one for a pass catcher'

Could the Eagles really move up in round one for another offensive weapon?

“People I've talked to believe the Eagles want to try to move up for a receiver, though one theory I found very interesting and potentially hilarious is that they could move up for tight end Brock Bowers, given their recent predilection for Georgia players," ESPN.com's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler report.

Bowers, the 21-year-old tight end from Georgia, is a 6'4", 230-pound tight end that would give the Eagles' offense yet another option in the passing game to go along with A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and new running back Saquon Barkley.

Goedert, 29, has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career and the Eagles could be potentially looking for his replacement. Goedert has never had a 60-catch season nor has he caught more than five touchdowns in a season, despite being labeled as one of the NFL's best tight ends.

Goedert has two years remaining on his contract and the Eagles could get out of it after this season, per spotrac , as his cap hit and dead cap number will be approximately the same for 2025 ($11 million).

Given the nature of their current selection, pick No. 22 overall, there are naturally various reports about what Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles want to do in the first-round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night. It's possible, maybe even likely, Roseman and the Eagles do not even know yet, as they are waiting to feel out how the draft develops.

Over the last 20 NFL Drafts, the bust rate for wide receiver and tight end have been higher than any other position.

Moving up from No. 22 in round one certainly makes some sense from an Eagles' standpoint, as Roseman has not had much success picking in the backend of the first-round.

94WIP's Howard Eskin believes the Eagles could trade up a handful of spots for an offensive lineman.

"If they only have to trade up four, maybe five spots, I think they trade up for an offensive lineman who is a tackle, not a guard," Eskin told Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on Tuesday's 94WIP Midday Show . "A tackle on the offensive line. The best chance I think is trading up to get a tackle. And then if they stay where there are, I think they'll get a corner. If they're where they are, they are going to take the best player available...But I think it's going to be an offensive lineman."
