The Philadelphia Eagles and star wide receiver A.J. Brown have agreed to a new three-year extension worth $96 million, the highest for any WR in NFL history. Brown is now under contract through 2029 and has an NFL WR highest ever $84 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport.

94WIP's Howard Eskin reported the Eagles and Brown have begun extension talks today on the 94WIP Morning Show.

On the field, Brown was excellent the last two seasons with Philadelphia. In 2022, Brown caught 88 balls for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns. Last season, Brown caught 106 balls for 1,456 yards, and seven touchdowns.

However, Brown caused a little bit of controversy off of the field, refusing to speak to the media for a few weeks during the Eagles' collapse, where they lost five of their final six regular season games.

Brown called into 94WIP in February to defend himself and clear the air, speaking with former Eagle Ike Reese and Jack Fritz.

"I have no problem," Brown began by telling Reese and Fritz. "I want to be here, it's as simple as that. I love where I'm at, it's as simple as that. Next question."

"I'm the person you need on this team because I am willing to hold people accountable, make people around me better," Brown said later. "But nobody sees that. All you see is the little flare ups...Nobody in that building works harder than me, I can stand on that and say that."

The Eagles also signed wide receiver DeVonta Smith to a n extension recently, through 2028.
