The Eagles traded the 50th, 53rd and 161st pick of the 2024 NFL Draft to the Washington Commanders in exchange for the 40th and 78th pick on Friday night.

With that 40th selection, the Eagles picked Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean.

DeJean was expected to be a first-round pick but saw his draft stock fall after suffering a leg injury late in his last season. In 2023, DeJean was a first-team All-American and won Big 10 Defensive Back of the Year.

The Eagles took a defensive back in the first round of the draft as well, taking Quinyon Mitchell out of Toledo with the 22nd-overall pick last night.

With the trade, the Eagles' next pick will be the 78th-overall selection in the third round.
