Were you wrong about Johan Rojas?

A game winning two-run homerun capped off a heck of a month for 23 year old Johan Rojas, who is beginning to make the case that he's an everyday starter in Major League Baseball. As the nine hole hitter in a lineup full of household names, it's very easy to make the case his quality of play in centerfield is far more important than his batting average.

Former Phillies GM and 94WIP Morning Show host Ruben Amaro Jr. has emphatically stated over the past month, "His defense is his best offense. If he improves his at-bats, that's a bonus."

Well, placed in a situation manager Rob Thomson would typically pinch-hit for him, Rojas won the Phillies their league leading 20th game of the season on Tuesday night, and over the past 18 games is hitting .312. For the season, Rojas is now hitting a respectable .241 with a .300 on-base percentage.

When asked by John Kruk postgame on NBC Philly how his teammates helped get him through his rough start, Rojas said (through a translator), "That's why I love this team. We're not just friends, we're family, and that's why I'm grateful for the coaches here, grateful for Trea Turner, and thankful for being here."
