Joe DeCamara laid out his offseason plan for Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday morning, saying he would build around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey and target LeBron James in free-agency.

"Here's my big picture," DeCamara said on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show. "Do not, and I repeat, do not trade Joel Embiid.

"He can be here for the next five [years] or so. I believe you have a better chance to win a championship in the next 10 years with him than without him, meaning I believe your window in the next three years is still real. And so to me is the objective, as I see it, is to build around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Obviously, cross your fingers and hope on Joel's health every playoff run. I get it and I know to this point, history hasn't shown well on that...This is obviously, probably their last chance and by the way their first chance in five years with cap space. But probably their last chance with cap space with Joel."

If the Sixers decide to cut Paul Reed (non-guaranteed contract) they will enter the 2024 offseason with $64.8 million in cap space, among the NBA leaders. Philadelphia seems to be a legitimate potential landing spot for 39-year-old LeBron James , who has a player option with the Lakers for 2024-25.

"And yeah, I target LeBron James," DeCamara admitted. "I would just tell you candidly right out of the gate, I would target LeBron James as hard as possible and I would try to lessen the burden on Joel. I would try to lessen the burden on Maxey and I would have LeBron, Maxey and Embiid try to win a title."

ESPN's Bobby Marks called this offseason "the most important in franchise history" for the Sixers.

In the 2024 NBA Draft, Philadelphia currently has their own first-round pick and a second-round pick as well, from either Chicago or New Orleans. The Sixers also have two firsts in 2026, 2028, and 2029.

After Thursday night's Game 6 eliminating loss to the Knicks, Embiid talked about the upcoming exciting offseason for the Sixers.

Morey and the Sixers reportedly inquired about trading for LeBron James before this year's deadline as well.
