Giglio: 'Phillies looking like an all-time great baseball team'

A couple of weeks ago Joe Giglio called this the greatest Phillies team he's ever seen.

Today, he took it one step further, saying the Phils are looking like an "all-time great baseball team."

"I am willing to up the ante today," Giglio said on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show open with Hugh Douglas.

"They're not just an all-time great Phillies team. This is starting to look like an all-time great baseball team. Once in awhile a team has a special year and that's what this feels like."

The 35-14 Phillies are 27-6 in their last 33 games, their best 33-game stretch since 1892!

The Phillies have the best starting rotation ERA in the National League by far at 2.59, with the next closest team the Dodgers are 3.30.

Zack Wheeler (5-3, 2.52 ERA) and Ranger Suarez (9-0, 1.36 ERA) are first and third in NL Cy Young odds.

Alec Bohm is tied for the MLB lead in RBIs with 44 and hitting .333, which is 5th best in baseball. Bryce Harper is hitting .280 with 11 home runs, just seven off of the MLB lead.

Bohm, Harper and Bryson Stott are all top 15 in on-base percentage, as well.
