Hugh, Giglio debate: Make or break year for Jalen Hurts?

Jalen Hurts, who will turn 26 years old in August, is entering fifth NFL season and fourth as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio debated on if this season is a make or break year for Hurts on Wednesday's 94WIP Midday Show.

Giglio: "There's this sentiment that this is some sort of make or break year for Jalen Hurts."

Douglas: "It kind of is."

Giglio:"You think so?"

Giglio: "The way I view it is Jalen Hurts is this team's quarterback this year and he's going to be this team's quarterback next year—barring some sort of catastrophic injury which changes his career and then they have to get another quarterback. But barring something totally out of the ordinary, I believe Jalen Hurts has a runway here of at least another couple years as this team's starting quarterback without question.

"I don't view it is as he has to deliver a championship this year or it's over. I think he's got a runway here. I don't look at it as a make or break season for Jalen, why do you?"

Douglas: "Jalen Hurts has to get this team, at minimum, to the NFC Championship game. When you look at the division, when you look at the conference and everything...This team offensively is the most talented team, in my opinion, in the NFC."
