Byron Donalds showed Republicans will no longer tolerate Democrats’ race-baiting lies

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) were in Philadelphia on Wednesday to launch former President Donald Trump ’s reelection campaign in Pennsylvania. It was a two-event affair as Hunt was the guest speaker at the opening of Trump’s first campaign office in the Keystone State. Afterward, Hunt teamed up with Donalds at another event that focused on black voter outreach.

“Congress, Cognac, and Cigars” was a “straight conversation about the black male vote, leadership, and how they will impact the 2024 election.” Donalds and Hunt were the guest speakers, and longtime sports reporter Michele Tafoya guided the conversation.

As anyone who is politically astute knows, the presence of black Republicans is one of the Democrats’ biggest nightmares, superseded perhaps only by black Republicans actually trying to increase voter engagement among black voters. So it should come as no surprise when the Democrats turned their vitriol to this event. And, in true Democratic fashion, they used the race card to purposely convolute a statement Donalds made about black families.

During the event, Donalds was discussing the devastating effect that Democrats’ policies have had on black families and communities. He explained how it caused widespread socioeconomic devastation in the nation’s black communities, with the destruction of the nuclear family being a vital consequence of these policies. To illustrate just how bad these policies have been, Donalds cited how there was a higher percentage of black families together during the horrific era of Jim Crow than in today’s era of relative racial equal opportunity.

He used Jim Crow as a valid comparison to highlight just how destructive Democrats have been to black communities. Donalds’s assertion was simple: Black families shouldn’t be worse off today, in an era that is relatively exempt from racism, than at a time when racism against black people was arguably at its peak. It’s a valid and logical statement. Every objective person knows this. Yet that is why the Democrats sent their political henchmen and their accomplices in the legacy media to attack Donalds. Democrats can’t have this truth gaining any societal traction and acceptance.

Perhaps then, it was only appropriate, that in an event that transpired in the city where the Founding Fathers declared they would stand up against corrupt, deceitful, and manipulative regimes, Donalds showed the country that Republicans would no longer tolerate the race-baiting deceptions and lies of Democratic politicians such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

When Jeffries predictably lied about what Donalds said and falsely claimed that he tried to glorify Jim Crow, Donalds fought back and came out swinging. And in his refutation, he landed a politically charged knockout blow.

“One of the things that’s actually happening in our culture, which you’re now starting to see in our politics, is the reinvigoration of black families with younger black men and black women,” Donalds said at the event Wednesday. “And that is also helping to bring the revival of a black middle class in America. You see, during Jim Crow, the black family was together.”

It is important to emphasize what Donalds said here because when he said it, the crowd of black people in attendance agreed with him. Several people shouted, “That’s right” — a key point that Jeffries, Democrats, and their accomplices in the legacy media conveniently ignored.

Democrats are lying about what Donalds said because he was emphasizing the importance of the black family. Just like the Democrats from the Jim Crow era, today’s Democrats don’t want black families to be together or succeed. They want black people reliant on the government, not families. It’s the strategy they have been using for decades. That was the impetus for the criticism of Donalds’s comments.

Individual responsibility and self-reliance are two forces Democrats fear the most. Metaphorically speaking, it is their political kryptonite. It challenges their entire political scheme of fear and oppression and the perpetually aggrieved class they created in society. And Donalds promoting the strength of families in black communities causes cracks in the foundations of the Democrats’ political infrastructure.

Democrats know Donalds never glorified Jim Crow. Democrats know they are lying. But they also know they are scared because Donalds is right — and they don’t want other black people to start realizing it. And now Donalds has shown Republicans will no longer tolerate these political lies to go unchallenged and unchecked in political discourse.
