As the Eagles begin mandatory minicamp, Joe Giglio says fans should come to the realization that the offense under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is going to get off to a rocky start, even after adding the dynamic Saquon Barkley in the backfield.

“We need to be ready, be prepared, and I’ve accepted it already: that’s a slow start by this Eagles offense,” Giglio said. “I expect the Eagles offense to get off to a slower start this year.”

Eagles standout receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have already expressed excitement over Moore’s offensive scheme, and Joe believes it will eventually flourish. But first, the quarterback has to learn the intricacies of the new offense, while the offensive line has to steady itself in its first year without Jason Kelce. Add it all up, and the Birds are probably looking at a sluggish start on offense.

“I like Kellen Moore. I think he’s going to install a good offense, and I think this Eagles offense is going to work in time,” Giglio said. “But I’m expecting a slower start…brand new coordinator, Jalen is going to have to learn all of it, and they don’t have the guy that used to make all of the blitz calls. They don’t have their Hall of Fame center anymore.”
