Ross Tucker says former Philadelphia Eagle pass rusher Haason Reddick will not play for the New York Jets in 2024 without a new deal and Tucker does not blame him.

"I said this back when they made the trade and I am going to stand by this, he is not playing for 14 million dollars this year," Tucker said on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show. "He is not doing it. I don't blame him, he shouldn't do it. Nick Bosa makes 32 million dollars a year. Why should Haason Reddick be playing the last year of his deal for less than half of what he's worth? He should be able to get, easily, between 26 and 28 million. And let me say this, if the Eagles thought that Reddick would be willing to play for 14 or 15, whatever it is this year, he'd still be an Eagle because they'd have him for this year and then when he went somewhere else they would have gotten a compensatory pick.

"I think this is Howie Roseman being much smarter than—I don't know what the Jets are thinking. The Jets think, 'OK we're going to trade for Reddick and he'll be happy to play for that money here?' He's from Philly! He wanted to play for the Eagles, what are you talking about?

"I don't think he's going to play unless he gets a new deal, he shouldn't play unless he gets a new deal and I think the Jets—if they didn't realize that when they traded for him—I think they made a major miscalculation."

Reddick signed a three-year deal worth $45 million in 2022 with Philadelphia and is entering the final year of that deal with just $14.25 million remaining .

The Camden, NJ native has has skipped all of his voluntary offseason team activities with the Jets . Any player under contract who does not report to training camp is fined a mandatory $50,000 per day.

Reddick recorded 11.0 sacks in 2023 and a career-high 16.0 in 2022 with the Eagles. In 2021, Reddick has 11.0 sacks with the Panthers and in 2020 he recorded 12.5 sacks with the Cardinals.
