    🍽️ African Restaurant Week kicks off Thursday in Philly. Participating city restaurants include Abyssinia Bar & Restaurant and Youma African Cuisine . Runs through June 30.

    πŸ” Grab some grub at the Old City Eats Block Party Thursday from 5-9pm on 2nd between Market and Chestnut streets. More than a dozen businesses in the historic district are participating.


    🍧 Stop by North Philly's Cherashore Playground for Community Day Thursday from 4-7pm. The event, part of the Wawa Welcome America Festival's slate of events, includes free food (including water ice), lawn games, vendors and info on health care services.

    🎻 Watch the 1989 blockbuster "Batman" under the stars at the TD Pavilion at the Mann Center tonight at 8pm as the Philadelphia Orchestra provides the score. Bring a picnic, blankets and lawn chairs. Tickets : $28-$93

    πŸ›οΈ Several museums and historic sites offer free entrance on certain days through the weekend, including the Science History Institute and The Independence Seaport Museum .

    πŸ‰ The Chinese Lantern Festival returns to Franklin Square on Thursday. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with new illuminated displays and the iconic 200-foot dragon. Open daily from 6-11pm through Aug. 18.

    πŸ€ΈπŸΏβ€β™€οΈ Kidchella Music Festival will get your kids singing, playing and dancing. The free musical festival at Smith Memorial Playground is Friday from 4-9pm. Free but registration required.

    πŸ’ƒ The annual Hispanic Fiesta kicks off Saturday at noon at 20th and JFK Boulevard and runs through Sunday night. Count on cultural cuisines, vendors, performances and music.

    πŸ–ΌοΈ Head over to Main Street for this weekend's Manayunk Arts Festival . Around 300 exhibiting artists and crafts from across the U.S.

    • Don't miss the Ten Thousand Flowers Project where you can help decorate a giant mural. Saturday, 11am-7pm; Sunday, 11am-6pm.

    πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ Hoist the maypole and dance to folk music at Midsommarfest on Saturday from 4-7pm. Beat the heat with the event entirely inside the American Swedish Historical Museum . Tickets : $5-$10; children 4 and below free.
