Spike Eskin says Bryce Harper needs to be held accountable by Philadelphia in the same way as Jalen Hurts and Joel Embiid is.

"I am pretty amazed that nobody has said this, but I guess it is par for the course," Eskin said at the top of Monday's Ike, Spike and Fritz 94WIP Afternoon Show. "Bryce Harper is a great player. Debatably the first or second best professional athlete in Philadelphia. He is a great player and he is having a great season.

"However, he is not infallible. I feel like he is not held to the same standard that certain other players in this city are held. That Jalen Hurts is held up to, that Joel Embiid is held up to.

"The reason why they lost Friday night's game—I guess you can whittle it down to two players. One, Taijuan Walker. The other reason they lose is because of Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper cost them the game on Friday night. He cost them the game in three ways and two of them are simply keeping his head in the game and remembering what's important."

Harper did not run out a ball he thought was a home run, settling for a double. Then, he didn't tag up on a fly ball to the outfield and grounded into a double play.

"He gave away the game on Friday and nobody says anything because we're so worried about being nice to Bryce Harper," Eskin said. "He has to be held accountable, just like Embiid does and just like Hurts does."
