The Downingtown dining scene will be closing out summer with a sophisticated but welcoming new concept, courtesy of a pair of hospitality veterans. Husband and wife team Bryan and Andrea Sikora are opening their latest restaurant, the Noble Goat, later this year, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Co-owner Andrea Sikora tells What Now Philadelphia that after founding and running a number of far flung concepts, the Noble Goat, located at 200 River Station, will allow the enterprising duo to work closer to home. “We live in Downingtown.” she states. “We moved here in 2010 and we’ve been raising our kids here for the last 13 years. We have restaurants that are quite far away. We saw the opportunity in that space, we liked the location a lot-we drive by that area every day. We watched the evolution of the old paper plant and the tear down and saw the new construction and thought to ourselves that it would be a great spot, so we just jumped on it.”

The Sikoras are some of the region’s busiest restaurateurs. The pair waited to ensure their other concepts were prepared to run smoothly before diving into a new project. Sikora explains:”It has been about five years since we last had an opening. Our newest restaurant opened in 2019. We have a lot of mature restaurants. We have the bandwidth, we found ourselves with a little more downtime. So it was just a good fit, timing wise.”

The Sikoras will oversee every aspect of the Noble Goat, ensuring that the restaurant offers guests a delicious and sophisticated dining experience, without sacrificing the joy of a night out. “We’re very hands-on owners, and it’s a very chef driven concept.” Sikora states. “We take pride in making everything we do in house-our pastas, breads. Our idea is to have a cross section of all the types of food we do. We want it to have an elegant feel but also to be fun and energetic. We hope to have adventurous plates on the menu, things you may not see other places, things you might not make yourself, a surprise every time you sit down.”

The concept’s commitment to bridging the gap between elegant and accessible extends even to its unique name. Sikora says: “We went around and around about names. We were looking for a name to capture the idea that we take ourselves seriously, we put a lot of effort into our food. There is definitely a sophisticated nature to our concepts. But at the same time, we’re very casual, down to earth, so we wanted to capture that we’re sophisticated in our approach to food but casual in our day to day function.”

Construction is currently underway on the location, which will provide seating for around 60 customers inside, as well as featuring a patio that can accommodate 40 additional patrons. The Noble Goat will have a lounge area, complete with couches, for cocktails and small plates.

Downingtown residents can look forward to enjoying lunch and dinner when the restaurant opens its doors later this summer. Sikora anticipates greeting customers in early September.
