The Philadelphia 76ers are signing veteran forward Paul George to a four-year maximum contract worth $212 million, ESPN's Adrian Wojarowski reported on Monday morning at 3:30am .

"George and his agent Aaron Mintz of CAA met with Sixers officials including owner Josh Harris, Daryl Morey, Elton Brand and legend Julius Erving in LA," according to Woj .

George, 34, declined his $48.8 million player option for 2024-25 with the Los Angeles Clippers to enter free-agency, which began at 6:00 p.m. E.T. today. NBA teams cannot officially sign free-agents until July 6th.

    PG, a nine-time NBA All-Star, averaged 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds on 47.1 FG% / 41.3 3P% / 90.7 FT% shooting splits last season in 74 games.

2023-24 was the first time George played in more than 56 games since the 2018-19 season due to various injuries.

George suffered a major injury in the summer of 2014, suffering a compound fracture of both bones in his lower right leg during a USA National Team practice.

The Sixers will team George—a career 38.5-percent three point shooter—with 23-year-old ascending All-Star Tyrese Maxey and 30-year-old 2022-23 MVP and seven-time All-Star Joel Embiid.

Philadelphia, who entered free-agency with over $60 million in cap space, will continue to look to add to their roster through free-agency in hopes of immediately competing for an NBA Championship.

Already, in the first 12 hours of free-agency, Daryl Morey has made a splash!

The Sixers are expected to re-sign Maxey to a five-year, $204.5 million max contract extension as well.
