Liberty Garden is a vibrant new beer garden opening on Independence Mall in historic Philadelphia. The soft opening is on Monday July 1. Liberty Garden is nestled right across the green from Independence Visitor Center at Independence National Historical Park. Liberty Garden is the first of its kind, a welcoming space in the National Park to unwind, commune, and raise a glass.

Liberty Garden has seating for 250 people under a shaded tree canopy, with communal picnic benches, small bistro tables and hammocks. Lorraine Serafini, of Joli Fleur Designs and Alexandra Zahn, of Zahn Designs collaborated to bring to bloom the native perennial garden featured at Liberty Garden.

FCM Hospitality’s Chef Adam Block has prepared an approachable, family friendly menu that is available all day. All drinks at Liberty Garden will be from Pennsylvania breweries and wineries, while highlighting beer from Philadelphia Brewmaster Brian O’Reilly’s Mainstay Independent Brewery.

Liberty Garden will be open Spring-Fall, officially on July 1, 2024, through mid-October. The next season will begin in April 2025. Liberty Garden is a sister location to Liberty Point, located just five short blocks away on the Delaware River Waterfront at Walnut Street.

Ribbon cutting and VIP grand opening ceremony, Wednesday, July 3 at noon. Speakers will include: Avram Hornik, FCM Hospitality; Kathryn Ott Lovell, President & CEO, Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation; Steven D. Sims, Superintendent, Independence National Historical Park; City Representative Jazelle Jones and local elected officials.

Liberty Garden is located on Independence Mall at 50 North Independence Mall East, Philadelphia, PA 19106, between 5th and 6th Streets, Market and Arch Streets

The Founding Fathers were known to convene over drinks in the local taverns and inns surrounding Independence Hall during social gatherings and celebrations. It is fitting that this tradition be continued at Independence National Historical Park.

The addition of the beer garden creates a magnet that transforms Independence Mall’s beautiful green space into a place for neighbors and friends to gather, strangers to become friends, and for Philadelphians to reconnect.

Soft Opening: Monday July 1 at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2 from noon to 10:00 p.m. Hours of operation: Seven days a week, noon to 10:00 p.m.
