The Philadelphia 76ers burned the midnight oil when they signed Paul George in the wee hours Monday morning. The news of the deal apparently broke way past Tyrese Maxey's bedtime.

The Sixers came to an agreement with George on a 4-year, $212 million maximum contract that secured Philadelphia its third star next to Maxey and Joel Embiid for next season. George's deal will run through to the 2027-28 season and reportedly includes a player option on the final year.

Just like the rest of the world, Maxey woke up to the news that his Sixers were adding the 9-time All-Star. His reaction to the signing on X was basically all of us finding out about George moving East.

"Hollon [sic] Wait what I miss! Yall know I go to sleep early!" Maxey wrote in his post, along with a GIF of Daniel Levy abruptly waking up.

Maxey has built a reputation as one of the most likable players in the NBA. His relatable post about the George signing definitely didn't hurt his approval rating.

The 76ers haven't had a star forward since Jimmy Butler's brief stint in Philly back in 2019 -- the same year George and Kawhi Leonard first teamed up on the Los Angeles Clippers.

With George in the lineup, the Sixers appear to be a serious threat in the East next season.
