Spike Eskin "loves" the Philadelphia 76ers' signing of Paul George to a four-year, $212 million max contract.

"Signing Paul George is a great outcome," Eskin said on Monday's 94WIP Afternoon Show with Ike Reese and Jack Fritz. "Considering the circumstance that we were in a few years ago, this is a great outcome. Paul George is an excellent player who fits perfectly with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

"I've heard a lot of, 'Well, big three doesn't work anymore.' Most of the big threes that don't work don't fit like this big three fits. A lot of the big threes you see, all three guys do the exact same thing, but that's not what we have here. What we have is a max level free-agent who decided to switch teams in free-agency, who decided to leave his home city of Los Angeles to come to Philadelphia where the pressure will be high. This is a win for Daryl Morey, it is a win for Joel Embiid, but most of all it is a win for us. This is the best possible outcome. Daryl Morey leveraged everything, everything on this offseason for cap space and it worked. They got to keep every draft pick they had, they still have four first-round picks to trade or do whatever they want with."

George is 34-years-old and has dealt with plenty of injuries throughout his career. He also has never gotten past the conference finals.

"It's not perfect," Eskin admitted. "He's not 28, he didn't lead a team to a championship with two Finals MVPs, but I don't look out there and see any of those guys available. Prime Kevin Durant is not available, prime Michael Jordan is not available. Paul George was available, he is a now a Sixer, we have a contender and we have a Sixers season and I love it and I am excited for it."

ESPN NBA writer Tim Bontemps said the Sixers have the best big three in NBA and "it's really not close."
