Philadelphia, PA – SEPTA is bringing back an enforcement program and increasing penalties for quality-of-life violations.

SEPTA Transit Police will now issue code violation notices for low-level crimes like alcohol consumption, smoking, or littering.

Fines will range from $25 to $150, with a copy of the ticket forwarded to the city’s Office of Administrative Review.

Those who violate the rules can choose to pay the fine or pick a court date. Any unpaid fines or continual offenders could result in being banned from SEPTA property.
