Philadelphia, PA – As part of the city’s Independence Day celebrations, thirteen children from around the world became American citizens.

The Betsy Ross house in Old City held its annual Children’s Naturalization Ceremony.

Thirteen children took an oath of citizenship, each one representing the thirteen stars on our nation’s original flag.

The kids involved in this year’s ceremony come from nine different countries across the globe.

The ceremony and celebration were followed by old-fashioned carnival games and Independence Day fun in Old City as part of the “Red, White, and Blue To-Do” event.
