Philadelphia, PA – 4 th of July celebrations took place all around, but thousands of people stuck to the city and birthplace of America to celebrate the nation’s birthday, with the holiday becoming the grand finale to Wawa’s Welcome America festival.

The weeks of events and celebration culminated in a dazzling concert and fireworks display.

People began lining the Ben Franklin Parkway early Thursday, eagerly anticipating concert headliners Kesha and Ne-Yo.

Kesha sang some classics along with new singles, sharing with the audience that she was celebrating an Independence Day of her own, recently releasing her first independently produced single.

Ne-Yo welcomed Philly-born rappers Peedi Crakk and Freeway to his set.

Everybody got on their feet to sing along, with the artists leaving the stage in a burst of red, white, and blue confetti, and colorful fireworks lighting up the parkway overhead to round off the holiday.
