Jared Mccain has been a hot topic after making it to the NBA, but not because of his play. Jared Mccain was drafted 16th Overall by the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers, but it wasn’t his stylish suit, or his stats at Duke that caught spectators attention. The attention to detail was placed on McCain’s fingernails. Sporting black fingernail polish, McCain quickly became a top trending search on X, formerly known as Twitter.

As real fans of Jared McCain are privy to why he paints his nails, this newfound attention leading to stereotypical remarks was nothing new to McCain. Jared has been nail painting for quite some time, facing the same scrutiny during his days at Duke.
It’s been well noted how much McCain enjoys expressing himself through nail painting after his one-and-done season at Duke. So much so, that he landed a partnership deal with Sally Hansen .
Why does Jared McCain paint his nails?
On April 10th, McCain made a Instagram reel , revealing why he paints his nails. “It’s just some self care time.” McCain said. “I feel like everybody should do some self care for themselves. For me, it’s nail painting. Sorry if that offends any of you guys”
McCain then details the kind of style he was going to try on his nails, while giving fans his favorite nail polish brand.
“My favorite nail polish to use is the Sally Hansen nail polish insta-dri” McCain confirmed. “it only takes 60 seconds to dry.”

While waiting one minute for his nails to dry, he took the time to give a more in-depth reasoning behind painting his nails.
“It helps me not bite my nails” McCain admitted. “I went to a salon one day and picked out a color, and I thought it looked nice. I know a lot of people disagree a lot of people don’t like it, but I’m just gonna be myself and do what I think looks nice”
After his first experience, McCain liked the look, but it was what happened next, that allowed him to make more occasional appearances with nail polish.
“One of the reasons I kept painting my nails is I had a game after I painted my nails and I ended up playing really well .. I thought it helped me played better, so far its worked, so I’m going to keep doing it I guess.”
