Caleb Martin To Sign Contract With Philadelphia 76ers

Per Wojnarowski, Martin has agreed to a four-year contract worth over $32 million.

Martin comes to Philadelphia after spending the last three seasons with the Miami Heat. Martin is coming off his best season as a pro, setting career highs in points (10.0 ppg) and assists (2.2) to go along with 4.4 rebounds per game.

After going undrafted in 2019, Martin signed with the Charlotte Hornets, where he spent two seasons.

In 2021, Martin signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat and quickly became a vital role player in the rotation.

Martin’s breakout came in the 2023 playoffs, averaging 12.7 points and 5.4 rebounds on 52.9% shooting and 42.3% from 3. Martin helped the Heat reach the NBA Finals as the No. 8 seed before ultimately falling to the Denver Nuggets.

Martin has garnered a reputation for being a “Celtics killer,” averaging 13.6 points on 50% shooting in regular-season and playoff games over the past two years, per ESPN Stats & Information.

76ers Continue Excellent Offseason

With the addition of Martin, the 76ers’ excellent offseason continues as they construct a championship-caliber roster around star Joel Embiid.

Philadelphia signed Paul George, arguably the top free agent, to a four-year, $212 million maximum contract. The 76ers also added Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond.

The 76ers re-signed budding star Tyrese Maxey to a five-year, $204 million maximum contract extension. Philadelphia also brought back Kelly Oubre on a two-year, $16.3 million deal.

The 76ers finished the 2023-2024 season with a 47-35 record, earning a spot in the Play-In Tournament. After securing the No. 7 seed, the 76ers lost to the New York Knicks in six games in the opening round of the playoffs.
