The Philadelphia 76ers wasted no time in NBA free agency by signing Paul George to a massive four-year, $212 million contract. George now teams up with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid in hopes of taking the 76ers to the NBA Finals.

George's time with the Los Angeles Clippers didn't exactly work out as they missed the NBA Finals and are left searching for answers once again.

Paul George officially signed his deal with the 76ers on Saturday and released a statement (h/t Sam DiGiovanni).

“I’m so excited to join this storied franchise with such a passionate fan base! I can’t wait to be a part of such a talented team and get to work to bring a championship to Philadelphia!”

The 76ers also posted a photo of George wearing a #8 jersey, which will be his jersey number with his new team.

George is a well-known Kobe Bryant fan and wore #24 in college at Fresno State and to begin his career with the Indiana Pacers.

Since then, he has worn #13 with each of the Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Now, George will sport Kbe's first jersey number as he begins a new chapter in his career.

For what it's worth, the 76ers have both #13 (Wilt Chamberlain) and #24 (Bobby Jones) hanging in the rafters, so Paul George had no choice but to pick a new number.

Nonetheless, all eyes will be on Paul George and the 76ers as they try and end the skid and finally make a trip to the NBA Finals.
