PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 19-year-old killed on July Fourth in a drive-by shooting in Kingsessing has been identified and authorities are processing a car they believe was used.

That night, around 11:30, a group of people were gathered near 60th Street and Kingsessing Avenue for a pop-up event when a car drove by and a man in the passenger side of the vehicle opened fire.

Eight people, ranging in age from 14-24, were injured; 19-year-old Maurice Quain, a beloved son and nephew of Southwest Philly, died. Police don’t know if he was the intended target.

Sources say shortly after the shooting, a light-colored Toyota Highlander was found along Bartram Avenue in Lansdowne, Delaware County.

The car was listed as stolen, and sources say there was ballistic evidence inside. They are still processing it.

As with every homicide, there’s a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Tips can be called in at 215-686-8477.
