As if the Philadelphia 76ers' offseason hasn't been full enough, it seems there is another major announcement in store for the coming years.

It's reported by Sixers writer Adam Aaronson, as well as CBS Sports, that the team could bring back their black throwback jerseys. However, it may not be coming as soon as fans wished.

"Can confirm — as first reported by CBS — the Sixers are in the process of planning to bring back the black throwback jerseys seen in last night’s Tyrese Maxey tribute video," Aaronson wrote. "But they will *not* be in the mix in the 2024-25 season."

The uniforms became popular during the early 2000s, when Hall of Famer Allen Iverson and Co. were thriving. Iverson is one of the most cherished names in Philadelphia sports history, earning numerous All-Star selections and winning MVP in 2001.

The picture that sparked these rumors came from the Sixers' page on X (formerly Twitter), showing a picture of guard Tyrese Maxey holding up the throwback jersey with his name and number.
