Philly-born model and TV personality Amber Rose will speak at this week's Republican National Convention.

Why it matters: Tapping the biracial celebrity to stump for him signals that former President Donald Trump is looking to court younger, more diverse voters.

Driving the news: Rose announced on X that she'll appear at the convention, which runs Monday-Thursday in Milwaukee. She didn't say when she'll take the stage.

    • Trump's toughest primary opponent Nikki Haley was added as a speaker as the GOP looks to portray a sense of unity following the attempted assassination .
    • Other speakers include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, UFC CEO Dana White and Donald Trump Jr.

Catch up quick: Rose, who once dated rapper Kanye West and briefly married Wiz Khalifa, grew up in South Philly before moving to New York to begin her modeling career.

    • She hosted her own show on VH1, published a self-help book called "How to Be a Bad Bitch" and organized a "SlutWalk" in Los Angeles centered around women's issues.

The intrigue: Rose did a 180 this year by endorsing the former president.

    • In 2016, she told The Cut Trump was an "idiot" and said she hoped he didn't beat Hillary Clinton.

What they're saying: Some Republicans criticized the decision to book Rose, complaining that some of her views around social justice and LGBTQ+ issues are antithetical to conservative values.

If you tune in: You can catch Axios' Alex Thompson's exclusive interview with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) on Tuesday at 4pm. How to watch it live.
