Jokes Pour In Over Pitcher’s Travel Plans to MLB All-Star Game

The Oakland Athletics are known to be one of the cheapest organizations in all of sports. Social media users poked fun at that fact again ahead of the MLB All-Star Game festivities.

Several fans made jokes at the Athletics' expense after MLB media personality Luke Arcaini reported Athletics relief pitcher Mason Miller was taking the Philadelphia Phillies' private jet to the All-Star Game.

The Athletics completed their weekend series against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Sunday. Rather than Oakland flying Miller privately to Arlington, Texas for the game, Miller joined the Phillies' private charter.

The Phillies have a league-high eight All-Stars while the Athletics are one of 12 clubs with one All-Star representative.

This isn't the first time a lone Athletics player has traveled with another team to the MLB All-Star Game. But fans still made fun of the Athletics on X (formerly Twitter).

"A's are the definition of poverty," omsportsburner wrote. "Oh my god."

"Yearly occurrence with the A's ownership," wrote Optimal Bets.

Other fans joked (or perhaps seriously suggested) that the MLB should make sure the Phillies don't tamper with Miller, who could be on the move before the trade deadline this summer.

"Tampering much?" asked Rachel who included eye emojis. "Wouldn't put it past that organization."

"TAMPERING!!" Explaining the Cubs wrote while tagging the President, the FBI, and CIA.

Other fans, however, were not as bothered about hearing Miller traveling with the Phillies.

"Do people really not know this is insanely common?"

The MLB All-Star Game will take place at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, Tuesday night.
