Ex-NFC Champion QB edged out of NFL insider's Top 10 list

An NFL insider has released his Top 10 quarterbacks list, and a former NFC Champion quarterback was excluded. Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles garnered only an honorable mention on the list headlined by Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson, respectively.

Hurts had an off-year in 2023 compared to the Super Bowl run of the previous season, but that was attributed to a nagging knee injury that hindered his movement and working with new offensive coordinator Brian Johnson who was not as effective as his predecessor, current Colts head coach Shane Steichen. (Johnson will be replaced by Kellen Moore in 2024.) These two factors were enough to keep him out of the Top 10.

It is worth noting that injuries did not keep Burrow (ranked second) or Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (ranked 8th) off of the list. Rodgers' injury happened in Week 1 and ended his season.
